About the Conservatory of Music & Fine Arts

At the Conservatory of Music and Fine Arts at First Redeemer Church, we cultivate creativity and nurture talent in a Christ-centered environment where students of all ages are equipped to glorify God through the arts. Whether through instrumental music lessons or group drama classes, our conservatory provides expert instruction that blends technical mastery with spiritual growth. Designed to enrich the soul and sharpen the skill, our programs inspire students to pursue artistic excellence and serve with purpose in their church, community, and beyond. HISTORY

The First Redeemer Church Conservatory of Music & Fine Arts is a division of the Worship & Music Ministry. The Conservatory seeks to help all students develop their talents to use for God’s glory. The Conservatory is staffed by qualified Christian teachers desiring to provide and environment for students to grow musically and spiritually.

MISSION

As part of fulfilling the Great Commission, the Conservatory is a musical outreach and leadership development component of FRC, helping individuals connect to God through His son, Jesus Christ, and teaching our students the art of worship through instrumental, vocal and drama performance.

STUDENT PLEDGE

KAREN BUNDY, EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

Karen received her Bachelors of Music Education from the University of Memphis. She taught High School and Middle School Bands at Briarcrest Christian School, in Memphis, Tennessee and Northpoint Christian School, in Southaven, Mississippi. Karen was called into the ministry and served at Germantown Baptist Church, Germantown, Tennessee as the Worship & Music Associate where she directed the Orchestra, Youth Symphony Orchestra and Jazz Orchestra, and oversaw the Children’s Choirs and the Conservatory of Music. She also served at Brentwood Baptist Church, in Brentwood, Tennessee as the Worship and Music Associate. Karen has been on staff at First Redeemer Church for 9 years serving as the Conservatory of Music & Fine Arts, Executive Director.  

ANNABELLE KING, ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT

Annabelle has been attending First Redeemer since 2020, where she has served in the children’s ministry for several years. She participated in the Conservatory through all four years of high-school through Acting Up, taking part in five mainstage shows and attending Junior Theater Festival three times. Among others, she held roles in Into the Woods Jr. and Mary Poppins. Annabelle is pursuing writing and is especially interested in children’s literature. Some of her other interests include reading, baking, and taking road trips with her family. Her favorite Bible verse is Philippians 1:6, which speaks to the changes God is constantly making inside all of us as we grow closer to Him. “And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.”
